Hand Cycle Ride on St. Marks Trail

Try something new and unique. Experience an easy and educational guided handcycle ride on Florida’s historic first rails to trail. This great upper body workout is perfect for folks with or without physical limitations. Loaner handcycles provided by Florida Alliance for Assistive Services and Technology. Meet at St. Marks Trailhead 4778 Woodville Highway. Fee $5. Limited space available. REGISTER HERE
Senior Summer Camp (In the Spring)
Monday, April 7 through Friday, April 11
Join us for a week of fun and creative outdoor adventures for active adults. Programs will include guided nature hikes, hay ride, kayaking on the Wacissa River, basket weaving workshop, evening bonfire with live music, Wakulla Springs boat tour, IMAX experiences, picnics, and more. Some lunches and some transportation included. Times are 9 am – 3 pm daily, plus a Wednesday evening bonfire.

Hiking Schedule
Hikes are on the 3rd Wednesday of each month
- Bring a water bottle and dress appropriately for the weather
- Wear sturdy, comfortable athletic or hiking shoes
- Wear sunscreen and bug repellent
- Hikes feature a guide/leader and sweep
- All distances are approximate
- No dogs please.
Pre-registration not required. If new, please complete a registration form on site.
$3.00 per hike. Bring exact change or purchase a prepaid fitness card.

Hiking Rating scale:
Easy (E) No hiking experience required. Need to be able to walk 3 miles. Mostly flat even surface.
Moderate (M) Some hiking experience recommended. Trail may be rough, steep, or sloped in places.
Difficult (D) Hiking experience recommended. Tracks will be long, rough, sloped, and/ or steep.

Wednesday, February 19 (9:00 am): Lafayette Heritage Trail to Tom Brown (M, 3 miles)
Meet at Lafayette Heritage Trail Park, 4900 Heritage Park Blvd. (slightly hilly, trillium in bloom!)
Wednesday, March 19 (9:00 am): AJ Henry Park (E 2 -3 miles) 2710 AJ Henry Dr.
Wednesday, April 16 (9:00 am): Lake Jackson Mounds Archeological State Park (D, 2-3 miles)
Meet at parking lot, 3600 Indian Mounds Rd. (Entrance fee or State Park pass required)
Wednesday, May 21 (9:00 am): Miccosukee Greenway (E, 4 miles)
Meet at Edenfield Road trailhead
Wednesday, June 18 (9:00 am): JR Alford Greenway, Bluebird Trail (M, 3.3 miles)
Meet at Greenway parking, 2500 Pedrick Rd.
Wednesday, July 16 (9:00 am): Lake Overstreet (M, 2 miles with a 4-mile option)
Meet at Forest Meadows Tennis Complex parking, 4750 N. Meridian Rd. (Bring extra $2 for park fee)
Wednesday, August 20 (9:00 am): Lafayette Heritage Trail (M, 3 miles)
Meet at Lafayette Heritage Trail Park, 4900 Heritage Park Blvd.
Wednesday, September 17 (9:00 am): Phipps Park (M, 3 miles)

Meet at Leon Sink Trail Head Parking Area. 5.8 miles past Capital Circle on 319 S. (Crawfordville Hwy). Turn right at sign, .2 mile to parking

Meet at Visitor Center parking lot. Bring Brown bag lunch. (Entrance fee or National Park pass required)
