Course Description
Students will learn to sketch in an urban setting, coloring their sketches in either watercolor or colored pencil. This class will focus on loose, relaxed and quick sketches taking no less than an hour. Finishing the sketch with color and detail in less than an hour. Students should have a back ground that includes drawing, perspective and either colored pencil or water color. The class will travel throughout the Tallahassee area to meet at remote drawing locations. Some classes will be held at the Tallahassee Senior Center.

Course prerequisite:
Students who have not completed the Drawing 101 prerequisite must demonstrate the following
requirements:
Working knowledge of the following art fundamentals.
1. One and two point perspective
2. Water color or colored pencil basics
3. The value scale
4. Thorough understanding of the tools used in this class

MATERIALS – YOUR CHOICE:
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT
If you are working in PENCIL you will need the following:
Small Moleskin Sketch Pad no larger than 5.5” x 8.5”
Choose SMOOTH PAPER quality for colored pencil
Faber-Castel Drawing Pencil 2H*
Faber-Castel Drawing Pencil HB*
Faber-Castel Drawing Pencil 2B*
Faber-Castel Drawing Pencil 6B
Or similar
Or you may use mechanical pencils size-.2, .5, .7 (and extra led)
Kneaded erasers
White vinyl eraser
Colored pencil set 12-24 colors BASIC COLORS archival quality please
2 hole pencil sharpener (if not using mechanical pencils)
2 small clamps
Something to carry your gear in
If you are working in PEN you will need the following:
Small Moleskin Sketch Pad no larger than 5.5” x 8.5”
Be sure to choose WATER COLOR PAPER quality
STAEDTLER Pigment Liner pens waterproof set comes in assorted line width .05-.3
