Use impressionistic techniques like the master himself with soft pastels, acrylics, or oils in this beginner’s workshop.

This class is designed to inspire students to create impressionistic artwork. We will study the Impressionists, especially Monet, and his unique approach to capturing light and form on canvas, interpreting the reality he saw with  dreamlike and ethereal, sometimes visionary, perception. We will study the way he used his color palette to achieve these images..

Materials:

Sketch books, paper for pastels, canvas for those who prefer it. Students provide boards or sandpaper.

Medium: soft pastels, acrylics or oils

3 brushes in various sizes 

1 to 2 canvases for finished paintings (11×17 works well)
