  • Archaeology of Brewing Beer
     September 30, 2024
     4:00 pm - 6:30 pm

From homebrewers to hop heads, and all those in between, beer is a huge part of our culture today. But what exactly is beer and how did it come to be? The art of brewing and our understanding of beer has evolved over centuries, but its significance in human history is timeless. Join us on a journey as we explore beer, both past and present, to unlock some of the mysteries of this enduring fermented beverage. Archaeologist Barbara Clark, RPA, MSA, Regional Director of the North Central & Northwest Florida Public Archaeology Network, will enlighten us on the history and mystery surrounding this popular beverage at the Tallahassee Senior Center. Following the class there will be an optional tour and beer tasting at Oyster City Brewing Company on Gaines Street with optional transportation from the TSC.
